My Coldplay Experience in Singapore

Call it magic, Call it true! This is my first Coldplay experience in Singapore!

Finally, after 7 years since their last A Head Full of Dream tour, British rock band Coldplay is back in South East Asia. Music Of The Spheres world tour made history as the first act ever to play sold-out six nights in Singapore. They added a fifth and sixth show (30, 31 January, 2024) after the first four shows (23, 24, 26, 27 January) are sold-out after the pre-sales. Before Singapore, they have a two-night stop in Manila, then another two-night stop in Bangkok after heading off to its Europe leg tour.

The concert was held at the Singapore National Stadium and my last concert was in 2019 for the U2 Joshua Tree Tour. Just a few months before the pandemic started.

Last Day of Concert

It finally happened. When Coldplay announced their Music Of The Spheres world tour and went on sale, we managed to snagged a seat at the last day of Coldplay’s six show in Singapore this year. Ticket purchase was a struggle, virtual queues are stretched for eternity until sold out. No wonder, they broke Singapore’s record for most tickets sold by an artist in a single day, surpassing 200,000.

So the stadium opens at 5:30 PM and we reach the stadium around 6:30PM. A smooth travel from our hotel to the Stadium MRT. The opening act is by pop performer Rriley, a Singaporean artist. Around 8:30pm, the stadium screams as the band member was seen on the screen going up the stage, before launching their first song ( Higher Power).

The crowd are so alive with Christ Martin’s vocals and the bands intro beats. Their live performance is so euphoric and immersive. The classic songs just bring some great memories back, a bit of pure nostalgia and happiness. While the current songs gives us a different style influenced with electronica and synth pop but still having it’s essence as alternative rock.

The concert atmosphere is so lit, including the dazzling lights of the LED wristbands that give an amazing spark and vibes in the stadium.

Finally, it ends with Fix You and Biutyful. What a live show it was, extreme happiness for this concert. Best night of my life! It was truly an experience, the band still deliver the quality of music we love from Coldplay.

Music of the Spheres did not disappoint!

Crowd Post Coldplay Concert

Transportation

Since this has been my second concert at the Stadium, the efficiency of public transportation and infrastructure are always hands down. Once the concert is over, the crowds is moving steadily towards the train station which is located underground the stadium with a 2-3 minutes interval during peak hours. There is a steady flow of moving passengers and transportation staff are all there helping and assisting. So efficient and safe train travel from the stadium to our hotel in Chinatown.

Anyways, this ends my Coldplay story and thanks for dropping by. Love to hear your comments and see you on my next posting! Thank you!
